Pets have been made a bit stronger so they feel more meaningful early game.Mileage may vary on how much this improves performance but it makes a castle filled with enemies that runs at 40-50 fps with the base mod run at 60-80 fps for me. Enemies and equipment itself will still scale, but drop rates will be back to vanilla values and leftovers will turn into equipment of the same rarity of the leftover. The hooks that control drop rates and shop items/crafting/leftovers have been disabled, this improves the performance without overhauling the hooking method at the moment.I made a few changes to the mod that makes the early game feel a bit less punishing and alleviates some of the performance hit in high enemy count areas.
